Frogs
The Frogs are six concrete pieces created for The Grove, Stockland’s sale centre in Tarneit. Working off of the concept of Thompson Berrill Landscape Design, Roynae Mayes designed sculptures to scale and had molds produced by 3D Industrial Carving Service and cast by Aringo Polished Concrete.
Stage 1
I first roughed out the general design of the frogs in Plasticine. Then refined the designs to uphold playground safety standards.
Plaster Maquettes
To finalize the maquette’s forms, i cast the Plasticine into plaster. The more durable shapes I then sanded into pieces to be scanned. The fact they were in a matte white greatly helped the scanning process.
